‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 7 spoilers: How will Bonnie handle Elena’s departure?
Everyone on the upcoming seventh season of “The Vampire Diaries” is going to handle the departure of Elena Gilbert in their own way, but to us it feels pretty clear right now that Bonnie is going to have a harder time with it than most for a variety of different reasons.
After all, how in the world would she be able to handle this easily? She’s here more or less because Elena is not, and the only way that Nina Dobrev’s character can return is when Bonnie is gone. It feels like nobody’s going to be killing her just for the sake of getting Elena, back, but the idea of dealing with guilt over what happened is still a reality.
This is something that executive producer Julie Plec discussed to Entertainment Weekly, and it is clear that being alive is going to weigh on Kat Graham’s character to a certain degree. With that being said, it does not appear as though she is going to let it define her in any capacity:
“She has survivor’s remorse … But she doesn’t want to be punished for it, either, so she’s trying to take a stand against anybody that would make her feel bad that she survived.”
New episodes of the show will start airing on Thursday, October 8, and given the present state of Mystic Falls with all of the Heretics present, we imagine that Bonnie is going to be called on sooner rather than later for help.
