‘Criminal Minds’ season 10, episode 10 review: Has Hotch found his new leading lady?
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, if you want to see how to do a crime procedural right, then you need to tune in to “Criminal Minds”. This show is the top standard when it comes to putting the focus on the case of the week and making stories that we may have seen on other shows, new and refreshing. They also have just enough of the personal stories of the cast to make us care what happens to everyone, but not so much that if a casual viewer wants to come home and catch an episode here or there that they aren’t lost when it comes to main plots. There are very few shows on the air that strike this kind of balance that “Criminal Minds” does and that’s probably why we love it so much.
The case of the week was certainly difficult to watch as a man convicted of killing and doing unspeakable things to his younger sister came back to the scene of the crime to do the same thing to his young niece. Stories involving minors are always the toughest ones to watch, but this is “Criminal Minds” and if you’re watching this show, then you know they don’t pull any punches.
Hotch’s personal life was in the limelight a bit this week as we learned that we haven’t seen much of Beth due to the end of their relationship. He even went on vacation alone with his son to try to help himself move on from the split. Is Hotch going to find love again? He has started seeing a new woman he met a few episodes back, but it’s too early to tell if this is something that will develop into a long lasting love or just a stop on the road of romance. Episode grade: B
