‘Downton Abbey’ season 6: Queen Elizabeth has bizarre hobby tied to show
Hey, everyone has to have a hobby, right? Some people sew, other people attend trivia contests, and apparently Queen Elizabeth II has a good time investigating “Downton Abbey” episodes for inaccuracies. It’s certainly a random hobby for someone to have, but we suppose whatever makes her happy, right? Plus, who are we to argue with royalty?
Speaking to People Magazine, At Home With The Queen author Brian Hoey made the following rather-fun observation about what the Queen likes to do when it comes to the show:
“She loves to pick out the mistakes … They do tend to get it right … However, the Queen did notice on one episode that there was a young so-called British officer wearing medals which had not been awarded when he was supposed to be alive. He was fighting in the First World War and the medals on his chest did not come in until the Second World War.”
We don’t think the show would or should be particularly offended about what the Queens seems to like to do with it, if for no other reason than that having someone of her stature watching has to be viewed as a compliment, right? It shows that this show is really reaching all audiences in Britain, and we already know that it has touched and traveled to a pretty wide array of places all over the world.
The sixth and final season of the series premieres later this month on ITV. Meanwhile, it will start up in America in early 2016.
