Donald Trump to return to NBC as ‘Tonight Show’ guest
So much for all of the talk about Donald Trump probably not showing up on NBC anymore.
Despite no longer being a part of “The Apprentice” and the network nixing the Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageant from their roster of programming, the Presidential candidate and businessman will be appearing on the upcoming September 11 episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” How long do you think it will take in this interview before his soured relationship with NBC comes up? It probably won’t be long.
We could make a pretty wide array of Trump jokes in this article if we wanted to (they’ve become the norm across the media), but the reality of the situation now is that he is the leading Republican Presidential candidate. Therefore, it would almost be strange if he did not appear on NBC, and there is a prerogative that networks follow to give equal time in one form or another to every candidate across the board. We’re not sure late-night talk-shows are included in this, but they may as well be.
You are going to be seeing many politicians continue to make the rounds on these shows over the coming weeks. Fallon just had Chris Christie on his show Monday night, and moving forward Stephen Colbert is going to have sit-downs with both Jeb Bush and Bernie Sanders within the first couple of weeks of his new “Late Show.” We only imagine that it is a matter of time before leading Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton enters the picture on one of these shows.
