‘The View’ shakeup continues; executive producer Bill Wolff departs

The chaos and calamity at “The View” just will not end. Remember when Bill Getty was the executive-producer / showrunner for the longest time? He departed back when Barbara Walters left her post, and Bill Wolff has since taken the spot as the man steering the ship of the reboot.

Well, it is now also clear that Wolff is out after the attempt at reviving the show with Rosie Perez, Rosie O’Donnell, and others was a disappointment in the ratings. The show did generate a few headlines here and there, but clearly someone did not think that it did enough in the ratings to really justify continuing on.

Candi Carter of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” has been named interim showrunner, and she will try to keep things afloat on the series until the series does opt to figure out what they want to do permanently.

For now, we can at least tell you that the new season of the show will premiere next month, and the objective will be once again to get a devoted group of people watching the show and discussing a wide array of some of the famous “hot topics.” We’re going to have some other news all about it soon, so be sure to stay tuned for some of that. Knowing this show and the summer it has had, there is probably more that will be coming up.

What’s your take on Wolff’s exit, or do you really have a strong take one way or the other? Share right now in the comments.
