‘Chicago Med’ spoilers: ‘The Sopranos’ alumni named new showrunners

Earlier the course of the summer, there has been a lot of chaos when it comes to “Chicago Med.” The “Chicago Fire” spin-off has officially lost one of its stars in Laurie Holden, and it was already revealed that the showrunner in Andrew Dettmann has also departed. That’s a lot of change for a show that is expected to premiere in November, and if this chaos continues, it could mean huge trouble for a show that there were big expectations for.

Well, the following bit of news may be at least some sort of good news, given that you’ve got some TV veterans coming on board in Andrew Schneider and Diane Frolov. These two previously worked on both “The Sopranos” as well as “Boardwalk Empire,” and that is a pretty great resume. If they can bring some of what these two shows had to this one, it could be in really great shape moving forward.

Ultimately, the big thing that is going to either make-or-break the series is finding out a way to tell medical stories here that are interesting, and different than any other show that is out there in this genre. There are just so many cases that have been done, and the series has to find a way to get creative. Having crossovers to some of the other shows in the Chicago universe should really help.

Hopefully, we’ll have some more news when it comes to “Chicago Med” in the near future, so be sure to stay tuned for some of that.
