‘Ink Master’ exclusive: Big Ceeze on elimination, alliances and life after the show
Big Ceeze went home on “Ink Master” season 6 last week and it was tough to watch him go. He was a good competitor, thought outside the box with some of his artwork, and brought us some really beautiful black and grey pieces. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to save him this week from elimination and he went home over Tyler, Duffy or Marisa, but to be fair this week’s challenge was Trash Polka and it’s a style that not many of the artists had done before, including Big Ceeze.
It was rough to see Big Ceeze go home because he didn’t know this style of tattoo (and many other people didn’t either), but we were fortunate to have a chance to talk with him about his time on the show. He spoke to us about what his strategy would be if he had another shot in the game, his elimination and if the alliances in the competition were a hindrance.

CarterMatt.com: Were you surprised to be in the bottom with this week’s tattoo and who did you think deserved to go home over you?
Big Ceeze: I was surprised. I knew I was going to the bottom, the attempt was there, but there wasn’t much that read trash polka.
If you had another shot to come back to the competition, what would you do differently?
Oh man! If I had another shot, I would do a lot of things different. For one, I wouldn’t try to go big! Two, when I had the skull pick, I should’ve went for the weak like Marisa instead of St. Marq. Marisa would have been gone if she would have got the rain forest!
Did you find that there were alliances forming in the competition and was that difficult to work around?
Not really, I mean Matt and Katie were always a team and that was cute! But I wasn’t worried about that. Honestly, I wasn’t worried about anyone, I was just frustrated that I couldn’t tattoo as well as I do at home.
How were you cast for “Ink Master – did you apply or were you scouted?
Ink Master called me and said they heard about me and would like to have me on the show.
What has life been like for you now that the show is airing?
Honestly, I don’t really see a difference in business, cuz my name is known in the industry, so I was already busy traveling all over the U.S.
If someone would like to be tattooed by you what is the best way for them to book an appointment?
If anybody would like to get tattooed, you can email my wife Mama Sandy at [email protected] and she’ll set you up with an appointment.
