‘Teen Wolf’ season 5, episode 10 (summer finale) review: Death and Theo’s wild ways
Going into the summer finale of MTV’s “Teen Wolf” on Monday night, we were definitely promised all sorts of drama. Did the show actually deliver on that? We’d say that for the most part, they did and then some with a story that was about people falling apart, but then also trying to bring people together.
Oh, and did we also realize that Theo is a pretty twisted human being? The cliffhanger at the end of the episode made it appear so, given that he decided that rather than try to fit into a pack using, you know, social skills, he decided that he was better to try to brainwash some people to follow his lead instead. He now has convinced himself that he is a true alpha, ready to do just about everything that he wants. We have to say right now that we’re actually kind of thrilled about this! The show needs people you love to hate, and he is up there and is one of the top villains running for the show.
Also, let’s talk about death and then rebirth. Turns out, Hayden is not actually gone! Of course, how is she back? Is she evil now and a part of Theo’s group, under a spell, or something else? It’s too early to say, but we are at least happy that the show is not dispatching of this particular character just yet.
This episode, in between the Liam vs. Scott showdown and whatever the Dread Doctors were discovering at the very end, was all sorts of intense. Luckily, it was also entertaining, and we really like the fact that they are not necessarily splitting the show up into two mini-seasons this time. Presumably, all of this madness will continue. Grade: B.
