‘Homeland’ season 5 video: Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin go behind the scenes
With the fifth season of “Homeland” coming to Showtime starting on Sunday, October 4, Showtime is starting to give you a little more insight into what is going to be coming up.
In the video below, you can see everyone from Claire Danes to Mandy Patinkin to Rupert Friend opening up about filming in Germany, and the story that is going to be taking place. There is a lengthy history of espionage (to quote the video) in the city, and some of the season will tell the story of how information is shared, and also how it is passed along. When you consider that we are firmly in the middle of the digital age, one of the questions worth asking is if the show will take on more issues related to hackers, or to someone like Edward Snowden who is a controversial real-life figure.
In terms of their personal lives, Danes makes it clear for at least “five minutes,” her character may start to be on the path to a normal life. She’s got a new job overseas, a new relationship, and is enjoying family life away from the CIA. Unfortunately for her, you know there is always that possibility of her getting sucked back in … and that is going to be coming up in a big way.
As for Saul, he is back to being a “company man” for the agency he previously departed, but is this the same Saul we have come to know? The longer he is a part of the organization, the more we wonder about how it has shaped him.
