‘Criminal Minds’ season 11 spoilers: First look at Aisha Tyler!

For anyone out there who is excited about the upcoming season of “Criminal Minds,” what we ultimately have for you now is another reason to be pumped up.

If you look below, you can get a first look at actress / “The Talk” panelist Aisha Tyler in her recurring role of Dr. Tara Lewis. She is someone who is joining the BAU for at least a few episodes while AJ Cook is on maternity leave, and as Erica Messer tells Entertainment Weekly (who were also the first to post the photo), there are a variety of interesting things that you’re going to see from this character that you are really not getting anywhere else:

“Every time we introduce a new team member, we want to make sure that they’re worthy of being a part of this elite criminal unit … She brings a different skill set than anyone else we’ve had. Once we’ve done our job and the bad guy is put away, she’s seeing what makes them tick once they aren’t hiding and running anymore. It’s really a cool sandwich to what our team does. It’s been a fun skill set to bring to the team, and one that we never thought we needed, but now that we have it, we love it.”

It is ultimately really easy to be happy about getting Tyler on board this show. She’s an easy person to be a fan of, she’ll insert probably a little bit of humor, and she brings another dimension to the series for a little while. Anytime you’ve got a show that has been around for more than a decade, you need a reason or two to shake things up.
