‘Hell on Wheels’ season 5, episode 6 preview: ‘Hungry Ghosts’ and Cullen’s new goal

“Hell on Wheels” only has two more episodes to go this summer, and that brings us to the halfway point of the season. Yes, it is crazy to think that we are this far into the story already. We have only just started to get to know some of the new characters, and we really have only seen some of our returning Union Pacific favorites for a couple of weeks now.

Next week’s “Hungry Ghosts” is going to follow up the story with Eva and Louise that first started to pick up steam tonight, and we hope that somewhere along the line here we also get a better sense as to what Eva’s endgame could be. For now, it appears very much that she is in survival mode, and running the brothel is one of her best courses of action to both do that and make a pretty hefty amount of cash at the same time.

The journey for Cullen and Mei will specifically be about trying to make sure that Tao is properly laid to rest after his shocking death tonight. This further exemplified Cullen’s desire to do what is right, even if the journey comes at the expense of finishing the railroad or allowing him to find his own wife and child.
