‘Bachelor in Paradise 2’ spoilers: Megan Bell’s arrival; JJ Lane versus Joe Bailey

JJ

We’ve come to know JJ Lane on two separate shows now to be a guy not afraid to speak his mind, and this is definitely true coming into Monday night’s new “Bachelor in Paradise” episode. You may have seen him in some heated arguments in some promos for the show, and for the most part, we think that these are meant to be references to the new episode that is going to be airing on ABC Monday, the second part of a four-hour event. (Yes, the length of this show is in so many ways exhausting.)

Just in case you want to know why JJ is involved in a tense argument, let’s just say that it has something to do with Joe Bailey and Samantha Steffen seemingly plotting out to date each other on the show. It also spoils his mood after going on a date with Paradise newcomer Megan Bell. Take a look at ABC’s tease below:

“JJ and Megan spend their date sailing on a yacht with dolphins jumping alongside. Upon their return however, JJ comes to learn the real story behind lying twosome Joe and Samantha and becomes enraged that they’ve picked on Juelia and robbed her chance to find love. Not afraid of conflict, JJ confronts Joe, who becomes immediately defensive, sprouting off more lies and the two almost come to blows!”

We don’t really imagine Joe and Samantha really ever turning around perception of them in Paradise, and it’s funny because in theory, we don’t think them plotting to date each alone is that egregious. The real issue here arises in how they went about it, and the fact that Joe deliberately hurt someone else for the sake of playing the game. Sure, you can blame the format of the show for proclaiming that such measures are necessary, but at the same time he didn’t have to act in such a cruel way.
