‘The Astronaut Wives Club’ episode 9 reaction: Preparing for the end

Astronaut -The Astronaut Wives Club” has really played out this season like it is a limited series, never really holding much back and also telling a long story over the course of the past nine episodes. Just think about all of the years that we’ve covered in here!

We’re not going to say that this show has been perfect. There have been times in which the show has really dwelled on stories that we feel are less-important, and the relationship drama is not always the most appealing other than the political ramifications of something like a divorce. The show’s strength is explaining the complicated relationship between NASA and these wives. From one vantage point, the wives are of course grateful for the employment that the space-race has given their families. However, at the same time it has brought them concerns, fears, and uncertainty. At times, it has brought death.

Yet, as the episode wrapped, we started to see the full fruits of NASA’s labor and you could get a sense of all of that wonder. You even had Rene Carpenter helping with the broadcast of the launch. This was a testament of the celebrity status that has come along with being in her position, and the unique skill set that she brings to the table.

By the time the episode was over, it was clear that times were changing, and that these wives are not going to stay in the same place together. We’re already starting to feel rather sad that the show is ending.
