‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: Matt Ryan appearing as Constantine!

Great news “Arrow” fans: It’s actually happening!

While at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour today, it was announced that Matt Ryan would be making at least one appearance on the upcoming fourth season of The CW show as John Constantine, the title character from the great-but-canceled NBC show from this past season. “Constantine” fans will hopefully get a little bit of closure for this, and for “Arrow,” it’s just yet another casting coup for them! It’s a chance to have another beloved DC Comics character in the mix.

The only real question mark going into this season was whether or not the rights could be worked out for Constantine to appear on the show. Star Stephen Amell had made it really clear that he would want to see it happen, and many other producers thought the same exact thing. We know for a time there were people who wanted to see The CW revive “Constantine” as well, but this never came that close to materializing.

What we do love here is that in introducing this element of mystique to “Arrow,” maybe this will help to pave the way for some other character. We’re a big Zatanna fan, and we wish that this character could make some sort of a comeback, given that she is not even that big of a part of the recent DC Comics series, either.

“Arrow” premieres on October 7, and if you want to faint with excitement, just take a look at the video from Ryan below.
