‘Criminal Minds’ season 11 spoilers: First details on premiere, Aisha Tyler’s arrival

There are some big developments coming up on “Criminal Minds” season 11, and one of the biggest coming your way is in the realm of guest stars. Aisha Tyler, as you may already know, is going to be a recurring player this season as Dr. Tara Lewis, and you are not going to have to wait long in order to see her turn up. It’s no surprise why: With the exit of Kate Callahan the show is going to have to hire someone new, and they also have to brace for JJ to be absent for some time because of AJ Cook’s maternity leave.

The first episode will air on Wednesday, September 30; now, take a look at the attached synopsis:

“The 11th season begins with the BAU interviewing different candidates to join their ranks in the wake of Kate’s departure, including a forensic psychologist, Dr. Tara Lewis, who is eager to assist their efforts. Also, the BAU hunts for a serial killer who leaves behind distinctive evidence that points to someone intent on revenge. Aisha Tyler joins the cast in a recurring role as Dr. Tara Lewis.”

By the time we make it to the end of the episode, we’re sure that something will be written into the series in order to ensure that Tara sticks around for a little while. As for the serial killer plot, the strange thing with this show is that this is the more-expected storyline of the episode. We’ve become so used to terrible characters doing terrible things on this show; seeing a new potential member of the team is a surprise!
