Three important ‘Daily Show with Jon Stewart’ moments to watch before finale

Tonight, the finale of “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” is coming on Comedy Central, and we want to try to prepare for this in the only way we really no how: Reflection. There have been some truly wonderful moments on the show over the years, both in terms of hilarity and in terms of poignancy. We’re not trying to get too political here, so we mostly wanted to point out some particular moments that we find so ridiculous, you’ll laugh at them regardless of your affiliation. Also, we didn’t want to focus on the correspondents so much.

Pizza with a fork – Probably our favorite segment ever on the show in terms of laughs. Before Donald Trump’s Presidential run, he had a sit-down lunch with Sarah Palin getting New York pizza. The problem? It wasn’t really “New York pizza” … and then he stacked two slices on top of each other … and then ate them with a fork. Jon’s takedown of pizza etiquette is the greatest thing to happen to pizza since stuffed crust. In Jon’s words, watch and learn! (Watch here.)

Dick Cheney shoots a man – At the time this moment happened in 2006, Stewart called it a gift from the comedy gods. It’s a little shorter than the pizza video, but still worth watching mostly in terms of seeing how somehow, people around a Vice-President can somehow downplay him accidentally shooting a guy in the face during a hunting mission.

Stewart’s first show since September 11 – This was back during the very early days of the show, and Stewart here echoed the feelings of so many Americans, he may have been able to allow them to realize that it can be okay to laugh again.
