‘Bachelor in Paradise 2’ review: Jillian Anderson’s surprise, JJ Lane’s power, Jade Roper’s romance

JillianWe are now three hours into “Bachelor in Paradise,” and this was definitely a hot mess tonight. Basically, we saw what happened when you give JJ Lane a rose and force him to determine the fate of someone in the competition.

Yet, this is precisely what happened on Monday night’s second episode, and we already have a shocking end to an episode! Jillian Anderson did not receive a rose, and therefore is the first person gone. That has to be quite a bummer, given that she definitely had a narrative and also a black censor bar. Hey, at least ABC is going to save a little bit of time not having to include that in post-production, right?

There were a few other highlights throughout the episode that caught us reasonably off-guard for the most part.

1. Who saw Tenley and JJ as a potential thing? It’s so random, but maybe it shows that JJ can learn to soften up a bit?

2. Mikey T. actually spent a significant amount of time tonight with Clare, and may be way more into her right now than she is him … at least based on what we’re seeing.

3. Right now, we’re openly considering at the moment Jade and Tanner the most likable pair on the show, and the most likely to find romance at the end of all of this.

4. Yes, Ashley I. continues to cry … a lot. Jared seems to have no real business being on this show right now (still hung up over Kaitlyn), and there is no way we see any of this ending now.
