‘Hannibal’ season 3, episode 9 ratings: ‘And the Woman Clothed with the Sun…’ stays even

For those of you who are eagerly keeping track of “Hannibal’s” ratings on Saturday night in the same way in which we are, we come to you now bearing both the good news and the bad!

We suppose we should start with what should bring a smile to the faces of many of you: “And the Woman Clothed with the Sun…” at least did not fall from this past episode. It still drew slightly more than a million viewers and also a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Yes, these are numbers more befitting of The CW than NBC, but we are at a point now with this show that you really do have to celebrate some of the little victories.

Obviously, the bad news is that those ratings are still terrible. This is still a series low for the show, and it’s hard to say that it will boost up any hope that is out there that the show could end up being renewed for a fourth season somewhere else. It’s hard to even know who the major contenders are right now. Maybe you could look at someone like a Yahoo or a cable network, but both Amazon and Netflix have already passed. A movie somewhere down the road could ultimately be the right way to continue this story, and maybe bring us closer to the era of “The Silence of the Lambs.” That seems to be the next place to go in the adaptation, followed then by “Hannibal” itself if we were to make it that far.

We’re not giving up hope just yet; remember, the best thing that you can do if you want to see the series continue on is to watch live, or at least watch somewhere like NBC.com or Hulu where your viewership matters thanks to ad delivery.
