‘Big Brother 17’ live feed spoilers: Costumes, punishments, and promises

Shelli -Before we get too deep into our final “Big Brother” updates of the day, let’s kick things off here by giving you at least a little bit of a taste of what we have learned so far throughout the day. Clay and Shelli failed to spare themselves at the Power of Veto Competition, as James won and therefore has all of the power to do what he wants this week. Clay earlier attempted to be a martyr and allow himself to fall on his own sword, telling others to vote for him to be evicted if he and Shelli cannot figure out an alternate plan.

Tonight, Clay has done his best to try to convince people to vote for him to go home (seriously) in the event nominations stay the same. He told this specifically to Austin and the twins, and of course that leaves us wondering whether or not it would be better to just say that he is going to and then just evict Shelli instead. These three could be the swing votes. Ultimately, though, it may be better still to honor the request of Clay since you’re not getting Shelli mad at you, and that side of the house is better at competitions.

Mostly, tonight is mostly interesting because of silly moments. Vanessa is walking around dressed as Jackie’s “squire,” and has to shine her suit of “armor” occasionally. Meanwhile, Shelli is having to complete a sword routine outside, and complete a process 2400 times unless she wants to be ineligible for the next Veto. So far, she’s playing it like a trooper. These were punishments from the Veto competition.

The disadvantage to all these punishments is less time to get James to do something different with the Veto … not that he’s going to, anyway.
