‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ season 3 spoilers: Archie Panjabi scores first TV role since ‘The Good Wife’

We cannot make it clear enough how happy we are to see Archie Panjabi back on TV already so soon after “The Good Wife”; not only that, but also that she is getting a chance to do something completely different on one of our personal favorite comedies.

As first reported by TVLine, the Emmy winner has signed up to recur on the third season of Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” playing the part of Lieutenant Knox, a police officer who will potentially be a love interest character for Joe Lo Truglio’s character of Boyle. This should be really fun, given that he is the sort of guy who revels in the awkward (and the exotic foods to go along with it). She will make her first appearance in the second episode of the season, and hopefully she will be around for several occasions in a way similar to how we saw Eva Longoria.

In some ways, we hope that this will help to take away some of the sting regarding Archie’s exit from the CBS show, which we don’t really blame on her at all. It was just so strange seeing the whole debacle with her not being aware of the show’s PaleyFest panel early this year, and then her and Julianna Margulies not even filming their last scene together at the same time. We don’t know all the details, but it really bummed us out.

Now that we’ve said that, this is why we’re so happy to have her here. This is such a light, funny show, and it should be a nice way to dive into something with a completely different vibe.

For now, let us know what you think about this casting in the comments.
