‘The View’ not getting back Joy Behar; she declines offer in latest move on carousel

View -The View” apparently had quite a mission this summer: Just try to round out as many members of the old crew as humanly possible in hopes of getting the show back to what it once was.

Recently, we reported that the ABC talk show had hired Sherri Shepherd to be a contributor for the upcoming season, and she will appear in roughly 50 of the upcoming episodes (which translates of course to a little over a week through the season, given that the show does take hiatus weeks). Now, we are hearing that somehow, Joy Behar was also courted for this! She was asked about this in an upcoming WBAZ interview, and made it clear that the terms were not on the level that she would want to go through this crazy experience once again:

“They’ve come to me and we couldn’t make a deal … they wouldn’t negotiate well enough for me, so I said no.”

Let’s also face it: Why in the world would Behar want to go back? She had a wonderful career on the show and elsewhere, and can probably live comfortably without getting involved in this mess at this point? We’ve already pointed out there there have been more changes the past few years with “The View” than really the rest of the series’ run combine. It’s almost like one of those old Domino Rally games where if you knock one of them down, all of the rest start to fall not too long after that.

We’re not sure what the fix is for this show in the long-term. Maybe their new panel of Whoopi Goldberg, Paula Faris, Michelle Collins, Raven-Symone, and Candice Cameron Bure and bring something to the table. For now, though, we’re predicted that at least two of them will be gone within a year.
