‘Suits’ season 5, episode 6 review: Rachel’s wedding venue; more proof that Gabriel Macht is awesome

Suits -Suits” tonight aired an episode entitled “Privilege” that for a few minutes, we actually thought was going to have some sort of a happy ending. After all, Mike managed to get the Plaza Hotel as a wedding venue!

With the help of the always-creative Donna, they found a way in order to ensure that she got the wedding venue of her dreams. This was a lighter story for the most part on the show, which is kind of funny to say since at the very core of it was Donna threatening to expose a cheater in order to free up the date.

We don’t want to spend too much time on the Rachel and Mike story for now, though, mostly because we imagine that there will be so much more time to discuss the two of them a little later on down the road. For now, let’s discuss the other part of this episode that really stood out: Gabriel Macht continuing to be awesome. We don’t know why his performance tonight really stands out more than others; he is consistently great as Harvey, but maybe there was just something heart-wrenching about watching him go after Dr. Agard in a way that was so convincing at the firm, only to tell her later that this was him interrogating her for information on a case when he really didn’t want to be doing so. Imagine what he is like when he does want that.

In the end, Harvey having to go through the wringer with his own therapist for the case was enough to allow him to realize that maybe opening up about his mother is not the worst thing in the world, and Dr. Agard is someone who can be trusted.

As for who cannot be trusted, two words: Jack Soloff. This guy continues to be a major heel, and his underhanded dealings tonight led to a lecture from Jessica and the mention of Daniel Hardman, a man whose infamous name we have not thought of in some time. We cannot imagine Jack is done just yet; then again, the same goes for every story we saw tonight in this excellent episode. Grade: A-.
