‘The X Factor’ UK losing announcer Peter Dickson after lengthy stay

The latest news -We know that this is a season of change for the British version of “The X Factor.” How else can you explain the fact that they are even getting rid of the show’s longtime announcer now?

In a post on Twitter, Peter Dickson confirms that after spending the past 11 years introducing new episodes of the show, he will no longer be a part of it. Maybe some people out there will not miss him, but his over-the-top shouting of the judge’s names alongside “it’s time to face the music” was one of the signature parts of this show. He is also the announcer of “Britain’s Got Talent,” so we also wonder what this means for his future over on that show.

Do we think that the show needed a new announcer? Hardly, but maybe Simon Cowell is looking to give almost every facet of the show a new coat of paint to appeal to a new, younger demographic. We have seen to a certain extent already what some of this is going to look like, given that you have the likes of Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw as new judges, and Olly Murs and Caroline Flack as co-hosts. The only reason we can think of to replace Dickson is to add a different dynamic to things that was not there previously.

The new season of “The X Factor” is going to premiere a little bit later this summer on ITV. We are going to have some more news related to the show as it becomes available. Stay tuned!
