‘Criminal Minds’ season 11 spoilers: Former ‘Mentalist’ star films guest spot

Tim Kang may not be a regular anymore on “The Mentalist,” but this is obviously a guy who is finding a variety of different ways in which to stay busy.

It was only a few days ago that we reported that Kang is appearing in a recurring role on the upcoming season of “The Vampire Diaries,” and the actor himself confirmed earlier today that he recently filmed a guest spot on one of the first episodes of “Criminal Minds” season 11. Just take a look at his message on Twitter below for more on that. There is no word just yet on who he is going to be playing, but with this show we imagine that there are really only so many different guesses that you can possibly make: A victim, a suspect or a bad guy.

Kang is joining a list of notable people who are taking part in this show in one way or another. Aisha Tyler has joined the CBS procedural in a recurring role that should help to fill the gap left by AJ Cook’s maternity leave. Meanwhile, we also know that Marisol Nichols of recent “NCIS” fame will also be stopping by. We just hope for the sake of Tim that he gets a chance to continue to do things that are very different than the notoriously uptight Cho on “The Mentalist.” The guy deserves to have a little bit of fun now!

The latest season of “Criminal Minds” is going to premiere on CBS starting on Wednesday, September 30 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. Hopefully, we will have plenty more in the way of news long before that episode airs.
