‘The View’ manages to secure Sherri Shepherd again as contributor
In their latest attempt to re-haul the show and get the ratings and public attention back, “The View” is now looking more towards their past than they have in at least the past year or so.
Specifically, Deadline reports that Sherri Shepherd has signed on to appear in around 50 episodes of the upcoming season in some sort of contributor capacity. This means that you should see her a little more than once a week on average through the entirety of the season, and she is one of many ladies taking on this job for the series.
For the most part, we feel like this is one of the smarter hires that the show has done in a little while. Sherri was popular and relatable during her turn on the series in the past, and is probably not going to enrage a huge percentage of the audience with her political viewers. It already looks like the show has that position filled with at least a couple of other people. Sherri’s a performer by trade, so she can keep things light and add a little humor.
As of right now, it appears that the panel for next season will comprise primarily of Whoopi Goldberg, Raven-Symone, Michelle Collins, Candice Cameron Bure, and “Good Morning America Weekend” co-anchor Paula Faris. This new group will be public unveiled come September, and we imagine that there will be at least a few headlines throughout the season. We’ve already seen Bure and Raven-Symone have a few arguments on topics on the show before.
