‘Power’ season 2, episode 7 reaction: Ghost, Angela, and the phone that can change everything
The story on “Power” so far this season has been for the most part about whether or not Ghost can keep his operation afloat, and also keep the complications relationships intact. Well, we think a lot of that fell apart last week when Tasha told him that he had to keep sleeping with Angela for the time being, and it came right after she was starting to get suspicious of him and Jamie being the same person.
This entire series has been in many ways a power struggle, and we get zero indication at the moment that this is changing after this episode as Ghost at times got the upper hand on Angela, while Angela tried to get the upper hand on him, still wrestling over the accusations that Ghost and Jamie are actually the same person. Tonight, her move hacking into the phone could be a game-changer … but the fact that she is not completely in the know here cannot be forgotten. Lobos is coming back, and don’t you think their presence could change a few things?
Angela tracked down Holly in this episode before even touching that phone, and she claimed that the whole “Jamie is Ghost” theory was a lie. Angela is still obviously suspicious of her, while at the same time Ghost is trying to just get her as far away as humanly possible now.
While Angela’s loyalties are tangled and her mind may be in some ways mush at this point with various stories, we cannot diminish the role of Angela in this episode. She had a wide array of developments in between talking down Tommy, and then also realizing that splitting with Ghost would eventually mean losing everything. She feels in some ways stuck and hopeless, and with that, almost everyone on the show has a certain extent of misery around them.
Let this just go to show you, yet again, that power does not always bring happiness. On this show, it brings more attempts to try and cover your tracks.

1. I was surprised Angela wasn’t quick to believe now that Jamie is not Ghost. Time for a new phone, Ghost! Of course, this also means she has told Greg (or someone) that she is in a heavy relationship with him. She has come clean with coworkers. Who was that under that hoodie?
2. I am loving Jamie’s potential partnership with Stern’s soon to be wealthy ex.
