‘Mistresses’ season 3, episode 7 review: A deadly twist on a bad idea
We learned quite a few things about Calista Raines on tonight’s new episode of “Mistresses,” but one of the largest ones is pretty clear: She can turn on you really quickly, and for sometimes things that are not even your fault.
With that, let’s spend a minute or two here discussing the big stunner of the night: The death of Luca, which came after what was really an atrocious idea to begin with from Joss and Calista to use Joss to try to seduce the guy, and therefore prove to Calista that he was a cheater. We understand that she wants some revenge on who is effectively a louse of a human being, but there are certainly better ways to get it than sending in your friend to try to at least act like she wants to sleep with him … right?
The death came after a temporary blackout, and therefore there are a pretty wide array of suspects here for who could’ve killed him. Clearly, it’s not Joss, but did Calista do it? She obviously has some sort of a motive. What about Eva? We already don’t like her, so we are not ruling something like her as a murderer out right now.
While April’s story clashing with her family (while continuing to bum out Marc) was a little quieter this week, we don’t want to diminish too much the Karen drama, given that she did sleep with Alec without Vivian around! The rules of this entire relationship are changed now, and they all may need to get together to figure out what the parameters are now … if it has not been completely damaged. Grade: B+.
