‘The View’ carousel continues; Nicole Wallace to depart

Is the revolving door at “The View” ever going to end? At this point, we’re starting to wonder if they should just throw a different panel of people out there on the stage every week and just leave it at that.

It was announced earlier this month that Rosie Perez was going to be departing, and we were hearing in turn that Michelle Collins would be making more of a presence herself going into the upcoming season this fall. Now, Nicole Wallace is set to leave the show, per a new report from Variety.

So why is the show making another change now? Sources claim that most of the reason for it is the lack of pop culture knowledge that we see from Wallace, who is more of a political commentator and apparently she was not bringing enough to that field to make everyone involved satisfied. With the election coming next year, this is a position that we feel like “The View” will want to shore up in the future. How do they do that? They probably need to find a new conservative voice if they are still trying to keep that “different premise” premise that they first introduced a while ago.

As of right now, the only currently-booked panelists on the show are Whoopi Goldberg, Collins, and newcomer Raven-Symone, who officially signed on as a permanent co-host a little earlier in the year. Here is an interesting fact for you: There were two changes to the panel made in the first nine years of “The View.” There have been three just in the past season with Rosie O’Donnell, Rosie Perez, and now Wallace leaving.
