‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 6, episode 6 review: Emily and Sara’s big moment; the hunt for Lesli Stone

More scoop -We have all seen this routine before on “Pretty Little Liars” over the years. The Liars manage to come up with a new suspect for who could be “A,” and then the rest of the episode is spent with them trying to investigate as many clues as possible in order to figure out their identity. The problem here is that for the vast majority of the time, the Liars are wrong no matter how you slice it.

Tonight, the person in the middle of their crosshairs was none other than Lesli Stone, and we understand why. She supposedly had a history with Mona and Bethany Young in Radley, and she could blame the Liars for what happened to the latter, even if it was not their fault. She’s incredibly smart and certainly psychotic, so targeting her made sense … even if some of the evidence was questionable. They also “connected the dots” and assumed that Mona was in some ways working with her.

When the Liars confronted Mona about it, she refuted their claims with points from her experience with Lesli: She hated Bethany, and barely even knew Charles at all. By the time we got to the end, Lesli was vindicated as little other than a person trying to be normal and struggling with it.

While the Liars were struggling to figure all of this out, Alison’s father Kenneth was on his own search for answers as for where Charles is or what happened to him. Let’s just say that he learned a thing or two.

Romance news – Hanna and Caleb are hitting some rough batches, but judging from the end of the episode, they were okay. Aria and Ezra had a moment where he helped to write her a recommendation, Spencer learned a thing or two about her sober coach, and Sara and Emily definitely got closer. What does their romance mean? It probably just clouds Emily’s head further.

This episode was a good one in furthering along the mystery of who Charles really is, and that tease about him coming home for his birthday at the very end? Super-creepy. Grade: B.
