‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 7 spoilers: Kat Graham’s Bonnie to get new love interest
Romance is always in the fabric for “The Vampire Diaries,” and even though Elena Gilbert is gone, that does not mean that the themes of the show are changing.
For example, it’s possible that Bonnie gets a new love interest over the course of season 7! This is something that executive producer Caroline Dries comments on in a new interview with TVLine, though she did add in there (to the dismay of many Bamon ‘shippers across the land) that this particular love interest is not going to be played by Ian Somerhalder. Looks like you will have to search somewhere else, like subtext, if you want something like that to happen. Kat Graham admits that she is open to exploring it at some point in the future, even though it is not on anyone’s immediate radar.
Graham also commented in the interview that she has personally pitched the idea of Bonnie falling for a female witch, and the character starting to explore her sexuality more than she has.
As for a few other important discussion points, Michael Malarkey tells the website that there is a more defined plan moving forward for Enzo, and Dries jokes that there are so many people who ‘ship Caroline with everyone, with one of the major reasons being that Candice Accola is really great at having instant chemistry with almost anyone. It looks like Caroline and Stefan will continue, but she is going to make him earn her affection potentially in a way that we have not seen on the series before.
The new season of “The Vampire Diaries” premieres on The CW Thursday, October 8. Stay tuned!
