‘Outlander’ season 2 video: See full panel with Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Diana Gabaldon

Outlander -Yesterday, we brought you a full account of everything that happened at the “Outlander” season 2 panel at San Diego Comic-Con, but for those of you who missed that and have about 40 minutes of your time open, have no fear: You can watch it now in video form!

The folks over at Flicks and the City were kind enough to upload the entire panel, and you can see it below. In attendance this year were stars Caitriona Balfe (Claire) and Sam Heughan (Jamie), executive producers Ronald D. Moore and Maril Davis, and also series author Diana Gabaldon. Kristin Dos Santos of E! News was the moderator. In case you are wondering why there are no video clips from the panel included in here, the simple answer to that is that posting this sort of footage is not authorized. The video below is precisely what is allowed by the convention to be recorded. There is no official version of the season 2 peek online, but Starz did post the gag reel after the panel ended yesterday. Watch that here. Hopefully the season 2 clip will come out over time, but this is understandably one of the remaining incentives to actually being there in person. In the internet age these panels are not anywhere near as exclusive as they once were.

As you can see, the panel was a great deal of fun both for the panelists and the audience alike. You really get the sense that there is still a gleeful spirit among those both onscreen and off for the show, they love their fans, and they are willing to poke fun at themselves. While you do get a sampling of season 2 news in here, you also hear about some memorable season 1 moments, some surprises from the Scotland set, and even some topics not too related to the show at all. Also, at one point Sam dresses up like a pirate. Funny stuff.

The second season will not premiere on Starz until most likely the spring of next year, so here’s to hoping that this panel helps you withstand the Droughtlander a little easier. The network has been very good at releasing assorted previews for the show, and we don’t envision that changing now.
