‘Vikings’ season 4 spoilers: Watch the new Comic-Con trailer now!

For “Vikings” fans hoping for something cool from San Diego Comic-Con today, we feel like the show came bearing what was a rather nice gift: A rather lengthy trailer for the new season! You’re going to have to wait until season 4 to get it, but it appears that almost everything that you love about the series (minus some of the oh-so-sad departures from the first go-around) are going to be back in some way.

There are obviously a number of reasons to be impressed with what History has put together here, but one of the biggest is how they are somehow able to not just raise the game, but continue to make this show viable and successful. While the network has put together some very good miniseries over the past few years, this is the only series that we’ve seen get off of the ground.

So how long will this particular show last? Hopefully the end is not for at least a couple of years. You’re drawing from an era that allows you to create so many different stories, and that should keep you from hitting a brick wall storytelling-wise. Also, we don’t think that the show has creatively been at a higher point, at least when it comes to surprises. Just look back at what happened to cause Jessalyn Gilsig to depart the series during this past season.

One other question that would make here is for Rollo: What in the world are you doing? (Well, we question his decisions, but history suggests that he could be all right in the end.)
