Giuliana Rancic leaving E! News, will remain on ‘Fashion Police,’ red carpets

E! Logo -For several years on E!, it felt like the network has consistency with Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic hosting their news broadcasts while also taking on primary red-carpet duties. Since then, there have been many transitions. Seacrest has scaled back many of his appearances, and now it has been announced that Rancic will no longer be anchoring the main news broadcasts, either. She will continue to be a part of red-carpet events and also “Fashion Police.”

In a statement, Rancic was grateful for the time that she has spent working on various broadcasts, and also used it as an opportunity to plug a variety of other things:

For more than a decade, I was fortunate enough to play a role in the success of E! News and will miss my family at the show … At the same time, I am excited to not only continue as host of two major franchises on E!, but also executive-produce the aspirational new show Rich in Faith for Oxygen as well as take my wine and clothing lines to the next level.”

We know that it is tempting to try and connect all of this to some of the stories that came out with Rancic earlier this year, especially when it comes to some of her comments about Zendaya on a “Fashion Police” episode that were deemed racist and offensive. However, there is no evidence that there is really any link here at all.

We’ll have to just wait and see what the future for this network holds, but we feel like in general E! has a hard time competing moving forward against the immediacy of the internet, at least when it comes to celebrity news.
