‘The View’ hires Michelle Collins; watch Rosie Perez announce exit

In the latest news regarding the revolving door at ABC’s “The View,” we are now hearing who is going to be coming in as the latest panelist in Michelle Collins. According to a report from The Wrap, Collins (who has been a frequent guest host) will join a panel that also includes Whoopi Goldberg, Nicole Wallace, and Raven-Symone. Honestly, it has at this point become extremely hard to determine just who is actually on board this show.

There were rumors swirling regarding her departing earlier this year, mostly so that she could try to pursue more traditional acting roles.

We feel like one of the real questions here is why in the world so many people want to leave this job so soon after taking it. They make good money, but maybe at the same time they find this situation stressful. There is an argumentative nature to the series, it may get tiresome to do this job and be “on” in front of the cameras every week, or maybe they don’t like this particular environment. It’s hard to say.

Ultimately, though, if “The View” wants success again they need to have some consistency. Viewers want to forge a bond with a particular group of people, and sometimes that’s hard to do when you have a revolving door.
