2015 Miss USA finds new co-hosts on Reelz Channel

Miss USAThe 2015 Miss USA pageant has already been through a whirlwind. Not only did Donald Trump’s comments on immigration lead to them losing an agreement with NBC and Univision, but they’ve also lost all of their co-hosts.

Now that the pageant has moved over to Reelz Channel, the organization had to find some replacements … and that they have. Former Miss Wisconsin USA Alex Wehrley is going to co-host the show with daytime / game show host Todd Newton, while Julie Alexandria of OK! TV is going to handle some of the behind-the-scenes duties. We imagine that there was not much time to figure out just what to do here in the hosting department, so it is pretty remarkable that they were able to find some people available to take on some of these duties in the first place, especially given the backlash against Trump. Granted, it probably helped that one of them is a former contestant.

We would admittedly be surprised if Donald’s name is mentioned even once during the broadcast of the pageant, mostly because so far the Miss Universe organization has taken the stance that the opinions of one of their co-owners are not a reflection of their group as a whole. Meanwhile, Reelz Channel has said through their own president that they do not condone or support Trump’s positions, but at the same time they do not want to penalize the contestants or dismiss what they believe to be a major American tradition.

We are very interested to see what the ratings are on Sunday, given that this is a controversial program airing on a network that doesn’t have that big of a following. Therefore, this is something definitely worth checking out.
