‘The View’ now officially losing Rosie Perez
The revolving door on ABC’s “The View” is continuing, and this time around, it is Rosie Perez who is saying goodbye.
According to Deadline, Perez is leaving the show in order to pursue more full-time work as an actor. This is an exit that has been rumored almost for the entire year so far, but we often heard that these rumors were not true, and even when she was gone she wanted to do other gigs here and there. This makes her the second person named Rosie ironically to be leaving “The View” this year. Rosie O’Donnell left earlier this year in order to take on some issues in her personal life.
So how long will Perez stay put? She is set to talk about this on the show tomorrow, and the current plan for now is for her to depart around the end of the summer next month.
What in the world will the show do now? Basically, at means having to hunt down yet another replacement at a time in which this show has become a revolving door. Ever since Barbara Walters left, Whoopi Goldberg seems to be the only permanent presence, and even she has faced a wide range of controversy over her stance on Bill Cosby. This show is in danger at this point of losing out completely to similar rival “The Talk,” which has better chemistry among its co-hosts, with one of the real reasons why being that you do have the same people around year after year that you can get to know.
