‘The Late Late Show’ host James Corden to host 2015 TCA Awards
We are just over a week away from the Primetime Emmy Award nominations being announced, but there is also one other show coming on August 8 that could be very important when it comes to people associated with TV getting recognized for their incredible work: The TCA Awards. This is put on by the Television Critics Association to go along with the summer press tour, which is a big tradition every year when casts assemble to try to hype up their shows to a crowd of reporters. There are typically a few notable moments that come out of this; sometimes you get a surprise headline, or an interaction that definitely comes as a shock.
Today, what we’ve learned is just who is going to host this big affair for the TCA this year: James Corden. The “Late Late Show” host will bring some humor and charm to the show, and we really like the selection here. Critics are known for being somewhat snarky (we speak as one), so having someone like Corden around should be fun gien that he is a very earnest performer, and is not going to go on stage and roast anyone presumably.
Corden’s own show has become a success in a short amount of time, with him relying mostly on his strength as a performer. He lets his guests have fun, the show is relaxed, and it has become a different animal than anything else on American TV in a short amount of time.
The Primetime Emmy Awards are being held on September 20, and will be hosted by Andy Samberg.
