Donald Trump’s comments lead to another casualty: Relationship with ESPYs

Donald Trump -So far, Donald Trump’s comments on illegal immigration to Mexico have led to end of a variety of deals. His relationship with NBC and Univision are over, it appears that “The Celebrity Apprentice” will no longer have him as a host, and he’s also lost his line with Macy’s. Now, the Worldwide Leader in Sports a.k.a. ESPN is now doing their best to sever ties with a golf club owned by him. The ESPY Celebrity Golf Classic is one of the events tied with their annual awards show (airing on ABC July 15), and this year it is being moved from Trump National Golf Club to the Pelican Hill Golf Club in Newport Beach.

In a statement per Deadline, here is what ESPN had to say about it:

“We decided it was appropriate to change the venue, and are grateful for the opportunity to stage the event at Pelican Hill on short notice. This charity outing benefits The V Foundation’s Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund, providing resources for important cancer research for minority populations, including Hispanics and African Americans. Our decision reflects our deep feelings for our former colleague and support for inclusion of all sports fans. Diversity and inclusion are core values at ESPN, and our decision also supports that commitment.”

Trump has not commented on this one just yet, but we know that he has a variety of other situations to deal with. If you’re going to miss somehow all of the millions of events that have his name attached to him, don’t worry: He’ll still be getting plenty of TV time with all of the debates and interviews that a Presidential candidate goes through.
