‘The Bastard Executioner’ spoilers: Kurt Sutter presents latest tease
With the premiere of Kurt Sutter’s “The Bastard Executioner” expected a little later this year, we are finally going to have a chance sooner rather than later too present more news on this ambitious follow-up to “Sons of Anarchy.” We know that production is underway in Wales, and that there is an impressive cast involved here including Katey Sagal, Stephen Moyer, Sutter himself, and also fresh face (at least to Americans) Lee Jones in the lead role.
The latest image below comes courtesy of Kurt’s own Instagram, and it shows you what we personally feel is a rather beautiful representation of what this 1311 world is going to look like. We know from watching “Doctor Who” over the years that Wales can work as a brilliant backdrop for a number of great terrains, and they also of course have the history and the castles necessarily to make this medieval drama work.
While there are some details out there about specific characters, plus the knowledge of course of Sutter’s skill and sensibility as a writer, we are still waiting to see more official footage of the series itself. FX will have a chance at San Diego Comic-Con, and if they do not reveal anything there, maybe we will see something in the weeks that follow. (If you missed it, they are giving away commemorative cards at the convention for “The Bastard Executioner” and other shows.
We anticipate the premiere date for the series being later this fall, and he hope that there are some additional stories to share every single step of the way.
