‘The X Factor’ UK: Rita Ora on new role as judge

The latest news -For a while earlier this spring, it did not look like Rita Ora had much hope at all of becoming a judge on the upcoming season of “The X Factor.” After all, she was contracted for the British version of “The Voice,” and thanks to that and her music career it didn’t seem like there was any way at all that Simon Cowell would be able to win her over.

However, so much can change thanks to just one simple move! What the music mogul did that was so unbelievably smart was bring on board Nick Grimshaw. The Radio One host is a friend of Rita’s, and this seemed to be one of the first important chips to fall leading to her eventually becoming a part of this show.

So what does Ora have to say about the gig now? Speaking in a new interview with the BBC, she explained that the process was extremely quick, and while she anticipates the show being a heck of a lot of fun, there is a major component of the show that is about trying to make sure someone actually becomes a superstar:

“When I got the call, everything happened so quickly. I was very honoured, it was a huge compliment … We want to have fun doing it and make it a show that’s fun to watch, [but there is] a serious job of finding someone with incredible talent.”

You will get a chance to see Ora for the first time in action on the series a little bit later this summer, but hopefully we will have some more news related to the series long before then. For now, head over here to get some of our other recent updates!
