‘Mistresses’ season 3 spoilers: Karen’s story is about to get even crazier

If you were like us in thinking that the start of “Mistresses” season 3 was perhaps just a little bit slow for the Karen character, we come bearing some big news right now: All of that is about to change.

If you have watched or read any previews already regarding Thursday night’s new episode, then you know already that there is a chance for things to get rather steamy for this character, Alec, and … Vivian? It may sound completely odd, but threesomes seem like a perfect fit into the soapy nature of this show. Heck, even the upcoming July 9 episode carries with it the title of “Threesomes.” If that is not a clue for what lies ahead, what is?

In moving beyond even this episode, we’ve learned that the July 16 installment is “Love Is an Open Door,” which may not be the “Frozen” reference that Disney really wants. (Then again, this show does air on one of their networks!) The synopsis below certainly suggests that this relationship is in some ways continuing, but it may be as more of a romance:

“Karen grapples with her feelings as she, Alec and Vivian decide exactly how their relationship is going to work. A bad judgment call involving the kids puts Marc in the doghouse with April, driving her closer to Blair. [Meanwhile,] Calista enacts revenge on a manipulative Luca.”

For those wondering about Joss and Harry, just take our word for it that there is going to be something big for these characters in the episode, as well. That just feels like a little too much to give away at this particular moment.
