‘The Fall’ season 3: When do Jamie Dornan, Gillian Anderson return to work?

The FallThe Fall” quickly became a phenomenon for everyone who saw it either on BBC Two or Netflix over the course of the past few years. There’s a reason why there is some Emmy buzz surrounding Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan now!

As tremendous as the series is, this is a show that really makes you wait for a number of different reasons. For one, creator Allan Cubitt writes all of the episodes himself, which is something that is far more commonplace in the United Kingdom than in America. This means that there needs to be proper time to ensure the quality stays high. Networks are also more willing to wait for content, while the likes of NBC, CBS, and others in America like to churn it out like clockwork.

There are some other advantages to the wait when it comes to the cast. It gives them time to be creatively fulfilled, and work on a variety of other projects before coming back. Benedict Cumberbatch has already said that this is why he continues to do “Sherlock” alongside many movie roles, and that may also be appealing to Gillian Anderson (who is in “Hannibal” and “The X-Files”) and also Jamie Dornan, who is of course starring in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” series.

While we have no specific date for when the cast will be assembling again to film the new season, a new Entertainment Weekly story about Anderson’s work on “The X-Files” reveals that filming will start this fall. That suggests to us a 2016 release both in Britain and America (though the launch dates could be many months apart).

Oh, and Paul’s almost surely going to survive getting shot. Why bring Dornan back otherwise?
