‘Heroes: Reborn’ trailer features Masi Oka, Zachary Levi, and more

Heroes -At first glance, we were not entirely sure as to whether or not we were really going to be getting invested into “Heroes: Reborn,” given how the show’s first handful of seasons went and some of the problems that it had way back then. However, it was after Zachary Levi was announced that we got on board. “Chuck” is one of our longtime favorite shows; in particular, the second season of that show was one of the most entertaining runs of just about any show that we’ve seen over the years.

Levi’s character is teased briefly for the first time in the trailer below, and is he … playing a villain? That would be an interesting change of pace given what we’ve known him for. Unfortunately, this footage is more or less spliced into clips from the first teaser for the new season, and there is not necessarily anything major given away from start to finish other than glimpses of Masi Oka (Hiro), Jack Coleman (HRG), and others.

The biggest takeaway from the trailer is that this will be a continuation of the “Heroes” universe, but we imagine it telling its own story that is for the most part independent of the original that came before it. Series newcomers should be able to give this a chance and be okay in the end. For longtime fans, we anticipate a few Easter eggs.

“Heroes: Reborn” premieres on NBC this fall as a part of their reinvented Thursday block, which also includes “The Blacklist” and a brand-new series in “The Player.” We’ll have some more news as it starts to come out.
