‘Scream Queens’ spoilers: Emma Roberts confirms season 1 premiere date
Today’s latest news about “Scream Queens” is … well, probably the news about “Scream Queens” that many of you expected it to be. The Fox series from executive producer Ryan Murphy is going to be officially premiering on Tuesday, September 22 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time (it will air at 9:00 starting the following week and the rest of the season). This was first confirmed by series star Emma Roberts in a post on her Instagram page (see below).
While it is great to know the show has a launch date officially now, this is probably the date that many of you out there pegged. Fox has yet to announce every one of their premiere dates, but signs point to them doing the same thing as their rival networks in ABC, NBC, and CBS: Launching most of their series the week of September 21, and then scale some of the others throughout. Fox to a certain extent has a little less freedom when it comes to scaling, mostly because of how the World Series throws their entire schedule for the month of October into complete chaos. This is a little bit of a bummer for “Scream Queens” depending on how all shakes out, since this is a show you want on for Halloween.
Roberts is one of the stars of this sorority-themed horror comedy, as she plays the wicked Chanel, a powerful sorority sister with a knack for tormenting others. The cast also includes Lea Michele, Keke Palmer, Jamie Lee Curtis, Abigail Breslin, and many others. Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas are among the guest stars.
Of course, we will have some other news on “Scream Queens” as the premiere date nears! You can read more updates here.
