‘Hannibal’ season 4: Is Amazon already out of renewal race?

Hannibal -Are we already getting near the darkest timeline for “Hannibal” getting onto Amazon? We’ve said for the past 24 hours or so that we considered the streaming service the show’s best hope of getting picked up for another season, if for no other simple reason than the fact that it is already the show’s streaming home, and it feels like its content would be well-suited for a service with no restrictions.

However, some distressed fans have reported already getting responses from the service that they are focusing on “developing and producing original content,” rather than programming that has already been released elsewhere. This is obviously a bummer, since we would like to think that some higher-up would have instructed their service reps to give at least a little more ambiguous response. With that said, this just may be what they are told to respond to almost any suggestion that comes their way, and we don’t think that it is a hard and fast sign just yet that Amazon has formally passed on the show.

Even if they do, there are still other options. We’re still high on the potential of Yahoo Screen for one, and then there is frequent show-saver Netflix and a few cable outlets such as FX and AMC that may at least have something to gain from considering it. We’ve mentioned Starz before since Bryan Fuller is developing “American Gods” there, but it still feels like a longshot for a network series to end up on premium cable.

For now, our suggestion for you is to keep hoping and fighting to save the show! We’ve already come up with a list of ways that you can help over at the link here.
