‘Criminal Minds’ season 11 spoilers: Aisha Tyler to fill vacancy left by Jennifer Love Hewitt
How in the world does Aisha Tyler have the time in the day for all of her jobs? In addition to being a podcast host and “Archer” voice actor, she also hosts “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” and is a panelist on “The Talk.”
Just in case that is not enough for you on its own, we also know right now that she is will be joining the cast of “Criminal Minds” for the upcoming 11th season, at least in a recurring capacity. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Tyler’s role will be that of Dr. Tara Lewis, a forensic psychologist who Hotch (Thomas Gibson) brings on board to fill the vacancy left by Jennifer Love Hewitt’s character of Kate Callahan. Hewitt was a part of the show for season 10, but decided to leave to spend more time with her young family.
“Criminal Minds” in the early going will also be without AJ Cook, who will be taking some time away thanks to maternity leave. She will return at some point in season 11, so there is no need to be concerned about JJ’s long-term future of the show for now.
While we wonder when Aisha is going to have the time to actually sleep, we are happy to see her on the show and it feels like she will be the right sort of new character to add to the ensemble. She is already well-known and in the CBS family, and while we know this is a serious show, her sense of humor will probably be able to shine through on occasion.
