‘Mistresses’ season 3, episode 1 review: How did Alyssa Milano’s Savi exit?

MistressesIf you are a “Mistresses” fan and a frequent reader of stories on the internet, then odds are that you heard the report quite some time ago that Alyssa Milano was set to exit the series over what was basically a move in production. Savi may be pictured in this photo, but this is the last time that you may ever see her with her sister Joss or her friends when it comes to this show.

Basically, Savi found out that Joss and Harry slept together after spending some time looking for April’s daughter Lucy on the beach, and decided as a result of that she didn’t want to be around her anymore. She cared for Harry, and seeing him with her own sister was too much for her. She quit her job, gave away her car, and bolted to other destinations unknown as a result of this. The only thing that she told Joss in the process was that she was “no longer her sister.” Harsh.

Joss spent most of the episode on a mad dash for answers, but at the same time also had to figure out how to tell Scott the truth about what happened between her and Harry. This episode did not exactly make it appear that anything with her love life was set in stone.

Meanwhile, this episode also featured Karen learned that she is free of HIV, but at the same time could help someone else in need. Meanwhile, April scrambled for any way to get Lucy to forgive her, and this proved to be very tough.

The episode did just about as good of a job as it could writing someone like Savi out without actually showing Milano, and we did learn a little bit at the very end about newcomer Calista Raines: She has a cheating husband, and she desperately wants to catch him in the act. Grade: B+.
