Teen Choice Awards 2015: Will Lea Michele, Gina Rodriguez, Zendaya, Emily Osment win Choice TV Actress: Comedy?

We’re getting near the end now of spotlighting some of the Teen Choice Awards candidates, or at least when it comes to the ones that are TV shows. (We have no real interest in the others.) We’re here today to discuss the Choice TV Actress: Comedy race, and this is an interesting one since it could be a marker of whether or not teen voters think the same way as ones for a show like the Emmys.

Also, there is a pretty large range of performers in the list of nominees below. You’ve got two from the Disney Channel, a traditional sitcom star, someone who sang in almost episode episode for six seasons, and then a young woman who starred on one of The CW’s most exciting programs in the network’s history. We’ve made our picks below, and we hope you do the same in the poll!

The nominees

Dove Cameron, “Liv and Maddie” (Disney Channel)

Emily Osment, “Young & Hungry” (ABC Family)

Gina Rodriguez, “Jane the Virgin” (The CW)

Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, “The Big Bang Theory” (CBS)

Lea Michele, “Glee” (Fox)

Zendaya, “KC Undercover” (Disney Channel)

Who should win – Much like we wanted to give the Comedy Actor award to Jaime Camil, we’re siding with “Jane the Virgin” and Rodriguez here. After all, she is the perfect intersection to us of teen-friendly entertainment and also a fantastic performance. There is a reason why she is considered to be a major candidate to win an Emmy at that ceremony taking place a little bit later this summer.

Who will win – Right now, we’re going to say that “Glee” fans are going to rally behind Lea one final time, given that the TCAs are an important show to the “Glee” family. Some of the stars have hosted it in the past, and this was one of Lea’s first public appearances following the death of Cory Monteith two years ago. We’re not ruling out either Cameron or Zendaya here, either, though we admittedly do not have the greatest gauge on what Disney Channel shows have in terms of a fan following.
