‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ spoilers: Finn Wittrock joins cast, may work with Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer

For all of those wondering just what Finn Wittrock’s future would be on “American Horror Story: Hotel,” we come bearing good news: He is now officially on board. Show co-creator Ryan Murphy confirmed on Twitter that the breakout star of “American Horror Story: Freak Show” show has joined, and will be seemingly playing a part that puts him into a similar orbit to such other people as Matt Bomer and Lady Gaga. Wittrock worked with Bomer briefly during the “White Collar” alum’s brief stint on “Freak Show,” and they also both worked on “The Normal Heart.”

When we spoke to Finn exclusively last week in an Emmy preview chat, he hinted that there would more collaborations with Murphy coming, and that he was specifically looking for something that was more or less the opposite of his psychotic Dandy Mott. Will this be that role? It’s hard to say, but we know Ryan does have a penchant for trying to mix things up with his roles.

Filming for this latest season will take place this summer, and Wittrock joins a cast that includes the aforementioned names to go along with Kathy Bates, Cheyenne Jackson, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and a variety of other new and familiar faces. The season should premiere in October.

While we always do wonder whether or not this series has assembled a cast that is ultimately too enormous for its own good, they do always manage to work it out, and give everyone involved at least a decent amount of screen time.
