‘Finding Carter’ season 2, episode 12 review: Who is Benjamin Wallace?
The summer finale of “Finding Carter” Tuesday night was intense, especially since you knew almost from the very beginning of the episode how it was going to end: With Carter in a courtroom.
Did Lori plan everything, including her time in prison, in order to try to get Carter back? It’s an elaborate plan, but she did come up with a way to emotionally manipulate yet again. What we still don’t understand here is that Carter is almost legal age, and will be able to make her own decisions then. What’s the point of going through all of this for something that may not even be close to permanent? Maybe Lori gets a little more time with her, and that is really it.
The moment that Carter was pressed about her time with Lori in the courtroom, we knew that she could have a little bit of trouble. How terrible was this lawyer representing her? This guy may be even more emotionally manipulative than Lori! Just as we were confused about why Lori thought she was going to change something now, we also found it somewhat bizarre that a kidnapper should really get a child back, even if there are biological ties.
However, all of our confusion and doubts about Lori’s case were clouded further by the huge shocker at the end of the episode: Benjamin Wallace. As it turns out, there was another challenge of Lori and David out there, one that no one knew about until now. His presence could change things, depending on how those goes and the extent of his history with the rest of the characters. This provided to be a STUNNING end to the episode. Episode Grade: B+.

The courtroom scene was a joke. First it would never go to trial, the girl was stolen for 13 years, ever heard of stockholm syndrome… its just too far fetched for me to believe. Second even if I believe it goes to trial in no way would an attorney be allowed to lead a witness like that and yet the DA gets her suggestion of the gun vetoed, way to play the scene to be not realistic at all. The end could be scene a mile away they hinted at it back in the carnival episode when the psychic said Carter had a sister and two brothers. Not shocking at all. I don’t see how he can be a good witness though since he was obviously raised in foster care. This show is just too over the top for me anymore.
